Tiles Cost for One Room (Materials estimated & Labour Cost)

Room Size
Length = 12 feet
Breadth = 10 feet
Height = 10 feet
1. Tiles:-
Floor area = Length X Breadth = 12 feet X 10 feet = 120 sqft

Skirting = sum of four sides of room = 12 feet + 10 feet + 12 feet + 10 feet = 44 feet
Height of skirting = 4 inch = 0.33 feet
so, area of skirting = 44 feet X 0.33 feet = 14.52 feet = 15 feet (say)

Total area Tiles = floor + skirting = 120 sqft + 15 sqft = 135sqft
take extra = 3-4%
so, Total require tiles = 140 sqft

2. Cement:-
mortar ratio for tiles = 1:6
mortar thickness = 1"-2" (25mm - 50mm)
mortar for tiles= room area = 12 feet X 10 feet = 120 sqft = 11.152 sqmeter (1 sqft = 0.0929 sqmt)
mortar thickness = 0.050 meter
so, volume of mortar = area X height = 11.152 sqmt X 0.050m = 0.5576 cu.mt (this is wet volume)
now Dry volume  = wet volume X 1.33 (33% of wet volume) = 0.5576 cumt X 1.33 = 0.742 cu mt

cement sand ratio for mortar = 1:6
sum of ratio = 1+6 = 7
so,

density of cement = 1440 kg per cu.mt
Cement require = cement colume X density = 0.106 cu.mt X 1440 kg per cu.mt = 152.64 kg
= 3 bags of cement (1 bag cement = 50 kg)
we need 1 bag cement of slurry
so, require cement = 3 bags + 1 bags = 4 bags

3. Sand:-

= 0.636 cu.mt X 35.314 = 22.45 cu.ft = 23 cft (1 cu.mt = 35.314 cu.ft)


4. White Cement

Rs. 20 per kg

5. Labour Rate
Tiles Laying
Rs. 15-20 per sqft

Skirting fixing
5-6 per sqft

So, total cost = 10,675/-
